Heart diseases, cardiovascular, pulmonary and inflammatory diseases of the heart, coronary artery disease, heart attack, angina, hypertension and blood clotting disorders.
Post-traumatic restorative dentistry. Teeth/mouth injuries, jaw/bite problems and TMJ issues.
Restorative Dentistry specific to dentation (teeth) and TMJ Issues.
ENT Surgeon (Otolaryngologist)
Ear, nose and throat cancers, hearing loss, tinnitus, nose/sinus disorders, breathing and balance problems, loss of speech, taste and/or smell. Palate and tongue disorders from head or skull trauma.
Musculoskeletal injuries, endocrine and breast surgery, cardio-thoracic surgery, urology, orthopaedics, abdominal injuries (including the spleen and liver), nerves, amputations, crush injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), hernias, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), bites, cancer and knee injuries. Special emphasis on vascular issues, hernia injuries, gastrointestinal & groin surgery.
Return to work opinion, current capacity and suitable duties opinion, liaison with employer and nominated treating doctor.
Disorders of the nervous system, including Alzheimer’s Disease, head and spinal injuries, neck and back pain, headache, migraine, stroke, peripheral nerves, carpal tunnel, epilepsy and trigger points.
Surgical correction of neurological problems including brain tumours, head, neck and spinal injuries (including disc problems) and peripheral nerve damage.
Occupational Health & Rehabilitation Specialist
Rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries (including sports injuries) and soft tissue injuries. Evaluate occupational cause of musculoskeletal injuries, including soft tissue injuries, Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hernia and ganglion.
A clinical oncologist is usually trained in one of the three primary disciplines of oncology:
- Radiation Oncology – treatment of cancer with therapeutic radiation;
- Medical Oncology – treatment of cancer with medicine, including chemotherapy;
- Surgical Oncology – surgical aspects of cancer including biopsy.
Eye injuries and diseases of the eye (cataracts, glaucoma, foreign bodies).
Musculoskeletal system, soft tissue injuries (diseases and dysfunction), broken bones and fractures, shoulder injuries (including athletic injuries and rotator cuff tears), spine and knee injuries (including torn meniscus). Plastic and General Reconstructive Surgeon
Facial, body disfigurement, including burns, complex repair problems, tissue/skin grafting, scarring (keloid) and hand injuries, skin cancer and cleft palate. Peripheral nerve injury and surgery.
Psychiatric illness/mental conditions, including psychotic illnesses, (bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia) depression, stress disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders and all addictions (alcohol, drug and gambling). Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD). Prescription of psychiatric drugs.
Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist)
Evaluation of medical, social, emotional, work and recreational aspects of function in paediatric, adult and geriatric rehabilitation for neurological disorders (including stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal injury, brain injury, spasticity and MS); musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions (including fractures, joint replacements, arthritis, osteoporosis and sporting injuries); acute and chronic pain (including back, neck and nerve pain); amputations; occupational injuries; cardiorespiratory disorders; other complex or chronic conditions including cancer and burns.
