Julie started with CVE Inc. in 2014 and has transitioned from the role as IntakeCoordinator, to Office Administrator and Receptionist, to Supervisor ofAdministrative Services including a heavy focus on Accounts Payable/Receivable. Hermany roles have made Julie knowledgeable in many facets of CVE’s protocols,procedures, and services. With her small team of administrator, her focus continuesto be ensuring not only are all customer needs fulfilled logically and efficiently, butalso that the company as a whole, from the management team to the front-line staff
are also supported.
Dr. Marion is the Manager of Assessment Services with CVE. He completed his Undergraduate Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo and continued on to receive his Chiropractic Degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2005. He began private practice in 2005 focussing on general practice with a gradual shift to include 3rd party independent assessments over the past 13 years.
Most recently Dr. Marion took over the responsibilities of managing the Assessment Services Department. His focus has been split to balancing both private practice and management responsibilities.
With respect to his private practice, Dr. Marion places a heavy emphasis on hands on work to help restore functional movement and range of motion with the aim being pain reduction and normalization of normal, pain free movement. This is supplemented with exercise prescription and direction to help patients achieve their goals in a self directed manner and help give them the tools they need to realize their health goals.
Melodie is a recent graduate from Saint-Paul’s University and the University of Ottawa. Her qualifications include a Master of Theological studies program and an Honours Bachelor’s Degree with Specialization in Psychology. Melodie worked as a full-time counsellor at many different group homes to provide services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Her experience working with diverse clients with disabilities has caused her to be very resourceful for CVE’s clients. Melodie currently works as an Employment Counsellor for CVE, providing services to her clients in both English and French. She is determined to provide the best employment services while supporting her clients to secure a suitable occupation.
Amra began working for CVE Inc. as a Kinesiologist/Functional Capacity Evaluator in 2008. In just a few short years she started expanding her skill sets to include completing Physical Demands Analysis, Ergonomic Assessments, Aqua Therapy, Dragon Naturally Speaking Software Training, Computer Training, Monthly Health and Safety Inspections, Employer Ergonomics Training, and Job Coaching. Amra has also developed a few programs for CVE Inc. that are successfully being delivered in both official languages. The latest title acquired is Policy, Procedure and Roster Manager. Amra enjoys the challenge of wearing many hats and working with a wide variety of clients.
Anna S. assumed she’d be a lifelong student, jumping from Computer Science to Psychology. Until she discovered a field that incorporated it all while volunteering in hospital: occupational therapy. Anna first graduated from University of Prince Edward Island with Honours in Psychology, then graduated from Dalhousie with a Master of Occupational Therapy. Anna moved from her home in the Maritimes to work with CVE Inc. as a registered Occupational Therapist in Ontario in Fall 2020. When she’s not at work, Anna enjoys learning French and keeping informed about new technologies. At CVE Inc., she has a particular focus on mental health and helping folks either get back to work or get back to everyday activities. She has continued to work with CVE due to their supportive team, research-based approaches, and flexibility in creating programs which suit clients’ needs.
Devon is an expert in human movement and exercise science as it relates to the biomechanical, physiological, neurological, and psychosocial mechanisms that drive health and well-being, human function and performance. Since graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, Summa Cum Laude, Devon is driven by the belief that health is achieved through movement. Devon strives to provide her clients with movement and exercise prescriptions that are geared towards improving health, performance and function. With close to 15 years of rehabilitation experience assessing and treating patients who present with a combination of physical and cognitive dysfunction and disability, Devon has worked in various settings within the arena of vocational and disability management. Devon joined CVE in 2020 as both a Registered Kinesiologist and Employment Counselor. Devon brings her passion and expertise to her clients by leveraging key principles in movement and exercise science, assisting clients in the management of injury and/or illness; successfully improving both physical and psychological performance, and ultimately restoring health, performance and function to her clients.
Lorne Neufeldt delivers the Youth Employment Skills Strategy (YESS) project and joined the CVE team in early 2021.He was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan. As a child he was held to the same standards as his fully sighted counterparts. This has taught him to use his decreased vision to increase his out of the box approach to helping his clients utilize their unique abilities to gain meaningful employment and life skills. As a lover of travel,tech and family he has experienced Italy, Ireland and Iceland. To name a few of his gems he also loves to play and test all types of gadgets. In his not so free time his little girl really makes him utilize all his senses just to keep up and he and his wife love every minute.
Herbie, registered seeing eye dog has been a part of CVE since early 2021 has helped the staff get through many trials and tribulations. When not guiding Lorne you can find him doing his rounds or taking a well deserved nap.
Dedicated and result-oriented employment professional, with over 15 years of combined experience in career and employment counseling /coaching and job Development, with a Diploma in Career and Work Counseling, and University Certificate in Human Resources. Over the years Julia had a proven track record of developing personalized professional action plans for job seekers, developing professional job search documents and empowering clients from all socioeconomic backgrounds to find solutions and reach potential. Julia takes pride in providing professional, compassionate, and personal services to all CVE clients and employers at all times.
Originating from a town of 3000 people in the lowlands of the Scottish Borders, Abbi studied Media Studies at University and after graduation Abbi obtained employment in a commercial placement agency in an Administrative capacity. Within 6 months Abbi became a Recruitment Consultant placing procurement professionals into jobs across Scotland. Abbi enjoyed assisting candidates to be successful and decided to return to University to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance and Vocational Rehabilitation. Following graduation, Abbi moved to Canada where she found employment as an Employment Specialist with an ODSP Service Provider. Abbi has over 15 years of collective experience of assisting people with disabilities to find meaningful employment in the city of Toronto, she joined CVE in 2018 as an Employment Integration Specialist and later contributing as Supervisor of Employment Services for our offices in Ottawa and Toronto. Abbi is very grateful to work with such wonderful colleagues and to have the honor to help so many amazing clients move forward in their careers.
Vigi has an educational background in psychology and sexuality studies, as well as a Master’s in Education. She has worked in various career fields but her passion has always been around working with individuals who identify with a disability. Throughout her education and employment journey Vigi volunteered at the Toronto and Ottawa Distress Centre helping callers with emotional challenges. Once completing her Master’s degree, Vigi worked at Carleton University under a pilot project to support students with disability prepare for employment once they graduated. Vigi also worked at Algonquin College as a Learning Strategist for the Centre of Accessible Learning (CAL) to support students with their learning habits and prepare them for success during their education. Vigi joined CVE as a Project Coordinator for the Skills for Success Pilot Project where she reaches out to various organizations for partnerships and spreads the news of the project’s role to supports adults who identifies with a disability find meaningful employment through 3 phase. Vigi is most proud of the safe space and professional work environment provided by CVE Inc. Clients feel safe and comfortable knowing all the staff members uphold professional behaviors and their privacy is respected.
Micheline joined the CVE team in March 2022. She has passion and the need to always help others. She has worked most of her career in the health care sector. She worked as a Personal Support Worker for over 15 years in a long term care facility and home care as well. At the age of 40 she went back to college and obtained a diploma as a Medical Office Administrator. Micheline is very excited and appreciative about CVE giving her the opportunity to help others once again as their Administrative Assistant. To witness and participate in the dedication and compassion in changing someone’s life in such a positive way has been very rewarding and she looks forward to the future at CVE.
I have been working as a physiotherapist for the last 23 years in various settings and with a wide variety of patient populations. The first 10 years of my career I was focused on treating infants and children with various neurological, musculoskeletal, or developmental challenges. This was followed by 3 years of Community work in which I was treating a variety of ages and diagnosis in the home setting. The last 10 years I have been working in private practice treating patients with various injuries following Motor Vehicle Accidents, Work Accidents, and general orthopedic complaints.
The broad scope of practice and age ranges have provided me with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively guide people through the recovery process and return to work/sport. In addition to competent assessment and treatment, I am a strong believer in educating and empowering clients with accurate information and education to allow them to heal in a supportive environment. My bedside manner and communication is my strongest asset which is crucial in establishing an effective therapeutic relationship. I believe that knowledge is power and when clients have the knowledge they need, it alleviates their fear and allows them to heal.
Kenny is a seasoned entrepreneur of over 20 years in multiple fields. She is a long-time community advocate and continues to forge new ways to conduct business in a fair, accessible, honest manner, while still focusing on company growth. CVE has given her the opportunity to further combine these two passions: business development and helping others. She is eager to help CVE reach new audiences in the National Capital Region and feels great reward in helping to align the right employers with the right job seekers.
With a background in counselling and social service, Jean-Pierre has worked in vocational rehabilitation for over 30 years. Initially he worked in Youth and Family counselling, street outreach and drop-in centre counselling with the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa Carleton. Following this he became a Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board of Ontario, assessing andassisting injured workers explore and identify suitable and sustainable employment objectives. Created and implemented vocational rehabilitation plans and subsequently monitored the progression of these plans, with the goal of returning injured workers to gainful employment. He has also worked with Veterans transitioning to civilian work, while employed with the March of Dimes Canada. Jean-Pierre joined CVE as an Employment Counselor. Continuing in a long-standing career, Jean-Pierre is encouraged by the excellent work and dedication CVE Inc. provides for their clients, and the positive impact we canhave on the lives of others.
Alan MacEachern graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in 2000. As a new grad, he was quickly introduced to the importance of the Kinesiology role in workplace injury prevention and rehabilitation working in a large Work Hardening facility in the Fredericton, NB.
Over the course of his career, he has gathered extensive experience implementing, coordinating and managing client-centered programs, while providing Leadership and Management to support clients and staff. Over the past several years, Alan has also been exposed to the recruiter and talent acquisition environment, while supporting the development and growth of the organizations he has worked with.
Alan has joined CVE as a Manager of Vocational Rehabilitation Services where he manages the Vocational Rehabilitation Team in their day-to-day activities and program delivery. Alan values the community-first approach CVE Inc. presents for clients, the dedication we have to our clients and staff, and the positive impact we can have on the lives of others.
Magdiel joined CVE Inc. on July 2022 and has worked in the ODSP program as an Employment Integration Specialist (EIS). Magdiel has an educational background in Criminology and Criminal Justice and has a well-rounded understanding of Psychology, Sociology, and Law. She is passionate about assisting individuals and providing them with the skills, support, and resources necessary to succeed. Since starting at CVE Inc. She has continued to volunteer at Ottawa Victim Services and provided support to vulnerable individuals who have been victims of crime. She is excitied to join the CVE team and continue her journey to support our clients.
With a degree in Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, and experience working with persons with disabilities, Susan Mokh has recently joined CVE as an Employment Integration Specialist. Susan’s education promotes her ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with different clientele, and in various situations. Having worked in a school setting giving children with disabilities the tools, and resources necessary to thrive, Susan is adept with thinking creatively, able to problem solve, and manage stressful situations very well. She is excited to work for CVE Inc to be able to help assist the candidates find meaningful employment opportunities- in her capacity.
After earning a dual degree in (AB) Psychology and (BSE) Guidance&Counseling, Joseph has worked in Talent Acquisition / Recruitment for over 10 years. He started out in volume hiring and was promoted to corporate and executive level hiring as he acquired the skill sets. In 2012, he was hired by a company in Edmonton that was tasked to recruit skilled foreign workers from all over the world to work for the oil sands in Alberta – facilitating the full recruitment cycle from interviews and visa application to onboarding and integration. As an Employment Counselor at CVE Inc., Joseph is focused on Essential Skills Tutoring and Advanced Job Search for clients.
