Helene Lefort

Hélène Lefort is registered and a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She has been working at CVE Inc. since September 2014, and has been Manager of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department since 2017. She graduated in 2014 from a Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Ottawa, where she also completed a Bachelor of Science, Honors in Kinesiology. Helene is also a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, and offers services in both French and English.

Hélène has a compelling passion for health and fitness and has high values in work-life-balance. She enjoys working with a variety of clientele with both mental and physical disabilities, however has a high interest in working with clients who have more complex diagnosis like Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, severe anxiety, and/or depression. Hélène’s goal is to help people best manage their condition, in order to return to meaningful and productive work along with improving their overall quality of life.

Julie Brezden

Julie Brezden is a registered member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and the Order of Occupational Therapists of Quebec. She has been working at CVE Inc. since May 2016. She graduated in 2015 with a Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy from the University of Ottawa. She has extensive knowledge in health sciences, psychology and ergonomics. Julie is fluent in both French and English and has professional working proficiency in Spanish. She enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and is passionate about helping them discover and achieve their full potential. At CVE, she strives to help her clients engage in meaningful activities and employment, ultimately improving their quality of life.

Melanie Mayer

Melanie is a duly qualified and registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and L’Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Occupational Therapy and Psychology and is a member of the Ontario Association of Occupational Therapist. Melanie has 10 years experience in providing bilingual occupational therapy and vocational counselling services within the automobile and long-term disability insurance sectors and private clients in Eastern Ontario, Northern Ontario, Nunavut and Western Quebec. Additionally, she has four years’ experience providing driving assessments for the Ministry of Transportation.

Amra began working for CVE Inc. as a Kinesiologist/Functional Capacity Evaluator in 2008. In just a few short years she started expanding her skill sets to include completing Physical Demands Analysis, Ergonomic Assessments, Aqua Therapy, Dragon Naturally Speaking Software Training, Computer Training, Monthly Health and Safety Inspections, Employer Ergonomics Training, and Job Coaching. Amra has also developed a few programs for CVE Inc. that are successfully being delivered in both official languages. Amra enjoys the challenge of wearing many hats and working with a wide variety of clients.

Nicole Besner has worked in both the public and private sectors throughout her career as an Employment and Training Counsellor. She has personally experienced life transitions, career changes, job loss and disability for a short time. Nicole joined the CVE team in July 2018 as an Employment Counsellor to assist client workers and client employers in finding employment solutions that can benefit them both. She enjoys doing research, exploring options, finding answers as well as bringing people together in the workforce. Nicole holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education and a B.A. in Social, Interpersonal and Organizational Communications. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time in nature, and with family and friends. She also plays the piano and the celtic harp. Her passion for health and wellness comes to life when she teaches intuitive art classes, life skills workshops and healthy living seminars.

Justin L.

Justin joined CVE as part of a successful return to work program. Through the services provided by CVE, Justin experienced tremendous success which allowed him to establish his career. Justin has now been part of the CVE team since 2012. He started by coordinating assessments for claimants that have been involved in motor vehicle accidents and those that require assistance in returning to work. Through his daily interactions with clients, Justin discovered his passion for helping people and further developed his customer service background. 

Justin transitioned into working as a Job Developer in CVE’s Employment Department in 2017. His regular interaction in the community by way of Job Developing and/or advocating in person on behalf of CVE’s clients has allowed him to build and foster relationships with employers and to identify which employers would be "Champion Employers” in the community. He loves coming to work for CVE every day because it allows him to directly impact peoples' lives in a positive way.
